The length of the oar is the most important factor when choosing oars. The table shows the length of the oar in relation to the width of the boat. If the boat has a high freeboard, choose a longer oar. Short oars are better in strong currents. For normal use, it is better to choose a flat blade. Such an oar can be used for both rowing and felting.
