Mounting ring for air vent pipes.

The use of these riser rings is essential in any situation where water can splash around the vent. The ring raises the fuel tank opening 3/8′ above the surface of the cap, reducing the likelihood of splashed water entering the fuel system through the breather valve. The split version of the ring is designed to be retrofitted to existing installations. In most cases, it is possible to add the ring without removing the fuel and vent hoses from the filler neck. For new OEM installations, the rings are supplied unsplit as they can be installed before the hoses are connected to the filler neck.

Note: The ring will not prevent water from entering the system if the cap is submerged or heavily flooded. If this happens, the filler/vent should be moved to a dry location or replaced with a sealed cap and separate vent elsewhere.
