Sea-Fire is the world’s leading supplier of fire extinguishing systems for the engine rooms of pleasure boats and smaller commercial vessels. A large proportion of the world’s boat builders install Sea-Fire fire extinguishing systems on their boats as standard equipment.
Sea-Fire fire extinguishers have either automatic and/or mechanical activation. In Sea-Fire automatic fire extinguishing systems, the system is activated automatically when a fire is detected and extinguishing begins without manual start.
The extinguishing agent in Sea-Fire devices is ‘3M™ developed Novec™ 1230 fire protection fluid’, which has an extinguishing effect based on cooling. Novec™ 1230 is liquid in the bottle and turns into gas when the pressure is released. It evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.
• Fast – Extinguishment occurs in seconds (10 or less)
• Effective – The extinguishing agent is designed to control and extinguish a fire at its inception, before it can spread. The extinguishing agent is non-conductive and non-corrosive, so it will not damage electronic and sensitive mechanical equipment.
• Clean – The extinguishing agent vaporizes quickly into a gas during discharge and evaporates cleanly without leaving any residue, meaning there is no need for post-cleaning.
• Safe – The system is safe to use even in areas where people are present. Novec™ 1230 is non-toxic.
• Environmentally friendly – The extinguishing agent is not ozone depleting and has a short atmospheric life.
The extinguisher should preferably be installed in a vertical position so that the extinguishing agent can be discharged as freely as possible into the space to be protected. The extinguisher must not be installed in a completely horizontal position, but care must be taken that the trigger head/gas discharge head is at the top in all situations.
The model must be selected according to the gross volume, (the engine volume must not be reduced).
Only one tank / engine compartment. A mounting bracket is supplied with the extinguisher.
