Rule Automatic Bilge Pumps Float switches are not necessary for these fully automatic pumps. Monitored by computerized operation, the pump turns on every 2.5 minutes for about one second if water is present. If the pump registers a resistance, it continues to run until all the water has been removed. The current requirement in monitoring or test mode is minimal and does not need to be taken into account for this series.
